Wer meinen Post über den Weissensee gesehen hat, weiß wie wunderschön es dort oben ist. So schön, dass man schnell die Koffer packen sollte und ein Hotel bucht. Zum Beispiel für das St. Leonhard Hotel in Techendorf auf der Westseite des Weissensees. 
Ein guter Freund von mir hat es mit 21 (!) Jahren übernommen. Trommelwirbel an dieser Stelle bitte, denn das ist wirklich eine Leistung. Aber abgesehen von Vetternwirtschaft kann ich ehrlich sagen: wenn ihr zum Weissensee fährt, dann dort hin. Ihr wisst, ich schreibe nur über Hotels oder Plätze die mich wirklich überzeugen. Und deshalb kann ich euch das Hotel wirklich empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber sehr fein und liebevoll eingerichtet. Jeder Gast bekommt zur Anreise ein kleines Willkommengeschenk und man fühlt sich dort sofort wohl. Von fast jedem Zimmer aus sieht man das klare Wasser vom Weissensee. 
Und in so einem Hotel darf natürlich auch ein Strandbad nicht fehlen. Einfach über die Straße, ein paar Schritte durch das Gras und schon steht man im Wasser. Es ist so erfrischend und klar, da will ich gar nicht mehr raus aus dem Wasser. Aber abgesehen vom Schwimmen und Tauchen (es ist schließlich nicht jeder so eine Wasserratte wie ich) kann man in der Gegend auch Wandern, Mountainbiken oder Kanu fahren. Oder sich auch einfach die Sonne auf den Bauch scheinen lassen und absolut nichts tun und einfach die Zeit dort genießen. Wenn ihr im Sommer keine Zeit mehr habt, im Winter friert der Weissensee meistens als erstes in Kärnten zu und dann könnt ihr sogar am See Golf spielen gehen. 
Außerdem gibt es die Möglichkeit im Spa, der Oase im Talas, zu entspannen. Mit Dampfsauna und Römischen Dampfbad und Entspannungsraum inklusive Seeblick kann man richtig schön runterkommen finde ich. Das einzige was meiner Meinung nach fehlt: ein Whirlpool für den Winter. Nico, falls du das liest, denkt mal darüber nach und ich zieh sofort ein 😉 
Was, wie ich glaube am meisten überzeugt, ist die unglaubliche Gastfreundschaft. Wenn man ein Glas Wasser zum Eiskaffee bestellt (der übrigens wirklich der Hammer ist!), bekommt man nicht nur ein kleines Glas Wasser, sondern gleich eine ganze Karaffe. Und allein wenn ich die Snapchat-Bilder vom Essen geschickt bekomme, werde ich sofort hungrig. 
Wenn ihr also in diesem Sommer noch ein bisschen Zeit habt, oder den September nutzen wollt um noch einmal abzuschalten, dann ist der Weissensee mit dem Kärntner Charme wirklich eine gute Wahl. Also schnell den Koffer packen und los! 🙂

For example the St. Leonhard Hotel in Techendorf at the westcoast of the Weissensee. A really good friend of mine adopted it this year with 21 (!) years, drum rolls please at this point. Although this is partisanship, I can honestly say: when you decide to visit the Weissensee, than you should choose this hotel. You know, I really only write about hotels or places which really assured me. And this is the reason, why I can recommend you the St. Leonhard Hotel. The rooms are small but really cozy and arranged with love and care. Every hotel guest gets a little welcome-present to their arrival and from nearly every room you have a view to the lake with the clear water of the Weissensee. In a hotel with such a location, there is of course a beach. You only have to go cross the street, a few steps over the gras and you are standing in the water. And it’s so refreshing and clear, you don’t want to go out. If you’re not such a water rat as I am, then you can also go hiking, mountain biking or driving a canoe. And in winter, the Weissensee is one of the first lakes which are frozen, and then you can play golf on the ice. For the colder months there is also a Spa, the oasis in talas, to relax. With sauna facilities with roman steam sauna, relaxing room and the view to the lake. In my opinion the only thing which is missing: a whirl pool. Nico, if you are reading this right know, think about it and I’m moving in right now. 😉 But do you want to know what assured me the most? It’s the hospitality. When you order a glass water to your iced coffee (which is delicious), you don’t get a small glass, no, you get a decanter. And when Nico is sending me some snaps of the food, I always get hungry. So when you have a few days left in summer, or also in September and you love Carinthias as much as I do, then pack your bags and travel to the Weissensee.
